The Joan Pye Project was established in 2004 to promote nuclear generated electricity
as the main solution to our future energy needs. Since conventional forms of power
generation are running down, urgent action is required to ensure that the UK does
not suffer from regular electricity blackouts.
There is a strong case for a balance in the forms of power generation, including
wind, water, tidal and bio. But the technology for producing these economically
and effectively will not be available for many years. In the short to medium term
nuclear energy is the only practical solution to both increasing electricity generating
demands and a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.
The following pages will highlight the efforts we are making to achieve this end.
